New or Changed Features

The Stash folder is now named " Mozy Sync" by default, but if you are currently using Stash, then your folder name will be "Stash" until you change it. For Mac users, if you rename the folder to anything other than "Stash" or " Mozy Sync," then the shortcut to the folder in Finder will disappear until you manually re-add it.

Fixed Issues

  • Existing users who want their sync data stored in Europe can update to Mozy Sync 1.1, but their data will remain in the U.S. until we add an enhancement to allow users to change where that data is stored. Users who are new to Mozy Sync and reside in Europe will automatically have their data stored in Europe with the release of Mozy Sync 1.1.
  • MozyPro and MozyEnterprise administrators can choose a sync data storage location (U.S. or Europe) for the entire organization. User and user-group specific setting will be added in future product releases.
  • (Windows) The sync status badge icons for a folder in Windows Explorer do not update when the status of the folder changes. The status badges will update when the window is refreshed.
  • (Mac) Mozy Sync cannot sync the contents of alias folders. However, you can create alias folders from folders within the local Mozy Sync folder and place them in other locations on your hard drive.
  • (Mac) Some less common attributes of Mac files, which are used by OS X and some Mac applications, will not be synced to Mac or Windows computers. The more common attributes, such as file creation and modification date, will be synced.
  • If you are linking a new computer to Mozy Sync, you can save initial sync time by transferring the Mozy Sync folder contents to the new computer using an external device. However, the files cannot be transferred using a storage device (USB thumbdrive, external hard drive, etc) that is formatted with the FAT32 file system.
  • All of the computers linked to your Mozy Sync must have unique names.
  • At times, the display of the quota used by Mozy Sync is not current. This will correct itself after a period of time, or you can try pausing and then resuming syncing.
  • Programs that update files frequently can cause significant network usage, which could result in other computers linked to your Mozy Sync having difficulty staying in sync with those files.
  • Mozy Sync requires disk space in your temporary folder for syncing, regardless of the location of the Mozy Sync folder. The space required can be up to twice the size of the largest file you want to sync. If insufficient space is available, the syncing process can fail.
