Version 2.9.0
New and Changed Features
- Support for AES Encryption
Now, if you choose to use a personal encryption key when installing the backup software, 256-bit AES encryption is used instead of Blowfish. If you were previously using a personal encryption key, you will continue to use Blowfish unless you reinstall the backup software. To do this, uninstall the Mac backup software with Keep configuration and log files deselected (click the Mozy icon in the menu bar and select Open Mozy Preferences) and reinstall using the Use a new encryption key (Not recommended) encryption option. While this option is not recommended for typical reinstallations, it is appropriate now because your files must be re-uploaded.
- Search for Files and Folders When Restoring Files
When restoring files using the Mac backup software, you can now search for files and folders. The results display only files and folders that match your search term, so you can more easily navigate to the files you want to restore.
You can open the restore feature by clicking the Mozy icon in the menu bar and selecting Restore files.
- Specify Days of the Week on which to Limit Backup Speed
You can now specify days of the week to limit backup speed. This makes more network bandwidth available to other applications and users according to the schedule you set.
You can access the backup speed settings by clicking the Mozy icon in the menu bar, selecting Open Mozy Preferences, and then clicking the Performance tab.
- Set Automatic Backup Options through the Command Line Interface
You can specify and view automatic backup schedule options through the command line interface. You can set and view the minimum amount of time between backups, the maximum CPU load percentage allowed for a backup to start, and the amount of time the processor must be below the maximum CPU load for a backup to start.

- Fixed an issue that prevented users from properly upgrading from version 1.7.3.

- Fixed an issue that prevented the backup software from sending all connections and requests through the proxy server.
- Fixed an issue where a backup could continue to run for an extended period after attempting to pause it.
- Added several performance and stability enhancements.
