Backup for Linux 1.5 Release Notes
Article Reference ID: 000273277
New and Changed Features
You can now restore files that are backed up from a Linux computer by backup set in Mozy online. This simplifies the restore process if you want to restore files that are backed up with a particular backup set. You can log in to Mozy online, select the computer, select a backup set, and then select the files in the backup set you want to restore. You are not required to browse to the location of each file in the folder structure. This feature requires that you use backup sets and manual (not continuous) backup mode.
Issues Fixed
- Fixed a rare issue that caused a computer to abruptly exit if a backup was stopped and then restarted again after a certain short time interval.
- Fixed issues that caused the info command to list versions of files that were expired or that were beyond their custom specified retention period value.
- Fixed an issue for users of Red Hat Enterprise Linux that caused the computer to exit abruptly when the backup software encountered a specific error.
- Fixed an issue that caused the backup software to ignore the value set by the administrator for custom_file_retention_days in the client configuration file.
Known Issues
While in continuous backup mode, you might be able to restore files through Mozy online by backup set, but the files listed under backup sets can be out of sync with the actual files. The workaround is to browse the folder structure in Mozy online when using continuous mode. There are no sync issues if you are using manual mode.
