New and Changed Features

  • Send Files to Mozy Using Data Shuttle

You can use Data Shuttle to send your files to Mozy for addition to the cloud. If you have large amounts of data you want to quickly get into the Mozy cloud, you can order Data Shuttle drives, back your data up to the drives, and send the drives back to Mozy. Mozy will then add the data to the cloud.

  • Symlinks to Directories Can Be Backed Up

You can now back up symlinks to directories. Previously, symlinks in backup directories were skipped.

  • Increased the Number of File Versions Tracked

The backup software now tracks up to 500 updates to a backed up file before it needs to re-upload the entire file. Previously, up to 50 updates could be tracked. This improves performance by reducing the need to upload an entire file as frequently.

  • Added the Ability to Back up and Restore Files with Characters from a Second Locale Codeset

The backup software can now back up and restore files with names that use the system locale codeset and one additional codeset. You can specify the additional, “fallback," codeset using the new msync.localcodeset variable, which is set by default to ISO-8859-1.

Issues Fixed

  • Fixed an issue where the decrypt command was missing from the backup software for the RPM distributions.
  • Fixed an issue that caused a CancelError0 error to erroneously appear the backup history.

Known Issues

  • Data Shuttle backup activity is not logged in the Admin Console backup history.
