New and Changed Features

  • Backup Sets Can Now Include Rules

Backup sets can now include rules which let you select files by file name or file extension. Rules give you more control over the files included or excluded from a backup set.

  • Additional Backupset Command Options

The backupset command has been enhanced to include additional options. The listfiles and listallfiles options list the files selected for backup by a specific backup set or all backup sets. The summary and summaryall options display the number of files and size of all files selected for backup in a specific backup set or all backup sets. The dumpall option displays the definition of all backup sets. For more information, see the command help (mozyutil help backupset) or manual page (man mozyutil).

Issues Fixed

  • Fixed an issue where the scan command excluded option was not including the blacklist file or exclude path.
  • Fixed an issue where running the scan command repair option resulted in an incorrect backup time in the history.
  • Fixed an issue where stopping a backup in progress resulted in the history command showing that the backup completed successfully instead of failing.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the modification date and time (mtime) of directories to be lost when restoring files using a restore package (mzd file).

Known Issues

  • Files with non-UTF-8 characters in the name, which are allowed by the Linux operating system, cannot be backed up. The workaround is to use only UTF-8 characters in file names.
