Version 2.32.8

New or Changed Features

  • For users of MozyHome or MozyPro, there is a new a backup set for automatically backing up critical Microsoft Edge files, including favorites. In some situations, you must reactivate the backup software to get the new backup set. For users of MozyHome, select the Allow back up and display of protected operating system files option in the Options tab under Advanced, then close and reopen the backup software. The set appears in the Backup Sets tab.
  • Users without administrator rights on a computer can now activate the backup software. Generally, users with limited rights, such as those in a UAC environment, cannot activate the backup software through the user interface without providing the computer administrator password. The administrator can now install the backup software in a way that does not require the administrator password for activation. To use this feature, administrators install but do not activate the software using the new /nonadminactivation command line option (example, Mozysetup.exe /nonadminactivation). Then, users log in to the computer, right-click the Mozy icon, choose the Continue Setup option, and activate the software using their credentials. For more information, see http://support.mozy.com/map?lang=en_US&mn=uacactivat.
  • The process for administrators to configure automatic updates to computers for users without administrator rights has been simplified. Administrators must only enable and lock the Install new versions of Mozy silently when they are made available preference in the client configuration file. They no longer add registry keys to the computer. For more information, see http://support.mozy.com/map?lang=en_US&mn=uacupdate.
